On today’s AGM agenda item # 4 is the "Presentation and adoption of the audited accounts".

I have a few comments and questions that I think could be presented on the BPTC Performance Report for the year ended 30 April 2023.

1/. On page 3 it is stated that;

"The club is heavily reliant on committee members WHO ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS and give their time and effort free of charge".
While this statement is significantly correct and we should all be exceptionally grateful for all the voluntarily contributions it should correctly record "EXCEPT FOR THE TREASURER WHO WAS PAID $3,500 FOR THE YEAR"

2/. On page 6 our total members this year are stated as 304 (last year 310);
Would you please advise,

a/. how this membership number is determined?

b/. Would you please explain the reasons and the difference between this years membership numbers of 304 and the membership numbers of 273 that you have reported to TCRI for our 2023/2024 TCRI membership fees to be based on?

PS; 273 members @ $45 = $12,285 GST incl. i.e. $10,683 GST excl. which is the "rounded" amount (maybe $10,700) that I would expect to be stated on the 2024 Budget

3/. On page 7 I note that the Club has recorded a $11,206 loss (last year $330 loss) and the same $11,206 decrease in Accumulated Funds. With the membership numbers this year remaining very similar to last year and with the benefit of hindsight do you think that the subscriptions last year were set too low?

4/. On page 11 Analysis of Revenue I note that the Club received a CFA donation $500 (last year as NIL as Donations

Q. What is a CFA donation?

5/. Page 11 also records Sponsorship Revenue of $5,087 GST excl. (last year $5,156 GST excl.)

Q. Other than sponsorship from the Commodore what other sponsorship income has the Club received?

6/. Page 12 details “Volunteer and employee related costs” of $25,902 (last year $32,152).

Q. Do we in fact have any such costs and if not why is this description title used?

7/. Costs state “Entertainment/Social” as $409 GST excl. (last year $289 GST excl.)

Q. Why isn’t the value of the MC meal at the Commodore included as an “Entertainment/Social” cost?

8/. Q. Why is there no analysis provided for the $2,962 (last year NIL) stated as “Vouchers -Commodore”?

( Note on Page 13 that “NZ & Canterbury Tennis Levies” are stated at $11,348 GST excl. and that represents 290 members at $45 per member for a total GST inclusive paid of $13,050.00 and this may be referred to under General Business.

9/. Q. Who are the $5,293 Sundry Debtors?

10/. Q. Who are the $1,270 Sundry Creditors?
